We all know (and love ;)) that the word "tactical" is grossly overused these days. It's one of the great marketing buzzwords that will go down in history, right next to "fat free" and "state-of-the-art".

There are many non-tactical items being marketed today as "tactical". Some skirt the edge of acceptability, while others are blatantly NOT tactical.

I'm not trying to have a thread discussion as to why it's silly to label everything tactical (we already have those threads), but rather, I'm curious what items other INGOers have found to be obviously non-tactical "Tactical" gear?

My entry, that I came across just this afternoon:

    Tactical Laundry Bag

    Why yes it does!

My example was just a laundry bag with the word "tactical" tossed into the name to make it more 'cool' (and marketable! ;)).

Your example at least went to the effort of adding actual items found on 'real' tactical gear to a very non-tactical item. Nice!

The word "tactical" in and of itself has a place. When referring to certain firearms training, 'tactical' makes sense. Or when referred to particular movements of vehicles, or people.

This thread is to point out those items that CLEARLY don't fall into the proper categories-- like a laundry bag.
