I'm preferably looking for a NIB Carbine, and I just wanted to see the opinions on the best manufacturer for the M1 Carbine.

I've been looking at AO or Fulton Armory.

    Any brands that I'm overlooking?

As far as I know, AO is the only manufacturer making new M1 carbines. Fulton Armory rebuilds carbines with USGI parts and newly manufactured barrels.

I've seen a few AO carbines at the 1500, but I've never handled a Fulton Armory carbine.

Spend the same or a tad more money and buy a new from rebuild USGI one and have a great shooter and a great investment.

You can find a damn fine carbine with what you'd spend on the Fulton Armory version. The AO carbine, if I remember right, is around what I've seen M1's going for at the 1500 (in the $600-800 range.)

I agree with you though...I'd get the AO carbine if the price were very very right, but by default I'll always go for the surplus GI carbines.

It's a great day when you go to the CMP at Camp Perry. I picked out my very own '' Correct '' H&R M1 Garand.
Take a day, make the drive, bring a buddy.............

USGI is the only way to go. I have heard the early production AO had alot of problems. It was supposedly corrected in later production.
