In an effort to keep our discusion in the political section on track I'll post this here.

    So what say theeeeeeee:

    My Choices:

    1)Red Robin: Gucamole Burger "MONSTER"
2)Penn Station: 13" Philly Mushrooms, Onions, Heavy Mayo
3)Schoop's: Double Mickey, Lettuce, Tomatoe, Ketchup, heavy mayo

Honorable mention: Any WhiteCastle with a grill over 10 years old!

My first choice would be Schoops, then Hooters. Before learning about Red Robins policy against gun owners today they would be number 1, but not anymore.

    They gotta Schoops in NWI?

Is it affiliated with the place that used to be in Hickory Hills on 96th?

If it wasn't limited to NWI it would be Bob and Claras tavern in Chicago Heights, only about 5 min. from the state line and the best burger I have ever had.

Schoops in Hobart, Portage, and Valpo as well. I guess Redamax isn't technically in NWI, but still the best place to get a burger in the summer.

Redamax and Schoops Period, end of discussion.

Ditto. Worth the drive up the Red Arrow Highway for a Redamax. Schoops is always good.

NEVER had a decent burger at Red Robin, can't believe people even go there. Hooters has a good honest burger. Never tried Penn Station. Looking forward to trying Five Guys one of these days.

I used to love burgers at George's Tavern in East Chicago, but they closed a few years back.

They have Schoops all over NWI. The Jalapeno Burger is awesome.

Culver's is one of the best fast food places out there too. They have good burgers, and even better frozen custard. I know there's one in Valpo, don't know where else in NWI. They have them in South Bend and Mishawaka too.

Another vote for Redamaks, darn good burgers!
Schoops and Culvers both have a good burger, they can be found in Michigan City in my area on HWY 421, both north of I-94.

Carlsons Drive In, great burgers, awesome food period! http://www.carlsonsdrive-in.com/

T-Bird Pub also has a rockn burger!

    Aren't those all chains?

If I'm going to go to a chain, I'll just go to Portillo's.

Portillos is anti-gun. Why support people who oppose us?

Oh, and before anyone mentions the NRA posters on their walls please go do your homework. Those are not for National Rifle Association but rather for the socialist National Recovery Act that dramatically expanded our government.

FWIW, Schoops is locally owned, started in Munster on Ridge Road, there are now a couple dozen of them. Redamax is locally owned, I think they have only 1 shop.

Another that was missed, and I don't know why, is Miner-Dunn in Highland, awesome burgers, awesome fries.
