I try to keep 3 different brands at hand.

I let other's shoot my ammo sometimes (not recently though)

And I've noticed 22 autos, especially pistols, can be finicky.
With 3 brands I'm good to go on almost anyones weapons.

Except AMERICAN EAGLE 22. For some reason, they suck on more weapons than the others.

Federal Value Packs, Federal Auto Match, Winchester M22 and Remington Golden Bullets have all worked fine. My CZ 452 Super Exclusive (28.5" barrel) eats it all accurately. What I found was CCI Stinger sucked in it. Being a bolt gun with tight tolerances I found the CCI Stinger was a hair too long to reliable move from magazine to the barrel to be fired.

In the end what I found was any 36gr and 40gr bullets worked just fine. Going to other weight bullets was a mixed bag. Aguila 60gr were fine. Remington 33gr not so much.

As another poster said, when supplies loosen up, buy some 50 or 100 round packs and try different things for your weapon(s) as they will all have their own finicky traits.

+1 for any bulk Federal .22 ammo.

Champion in the blue box for my Mark III and general plinking in my 10/22. CCI mini-mags are the "gold standard" for cheap(er) .22 ammo, but my guns shoot Federal Champion more accurately. Typically 1-2 misfires per box of 525.

I love Federal AutoMatch for my CZ452. It shoots about as well as any of the high dollar target ammo. Shot 400+ rounds of it in my 10/22 last weekend at the Nashville Appleseed...1 misfire, but it lit on the 2nd try. Still shot rifleman ;)

Is this stuff any good? I bought a couple of them a few years back but really cant run unplated stuff thru my suppressed 22/45. Im going to hang on to them I think since I want a GSG but dont know if they are any good.

Why not? I run unplated .22 through all my suppressed guns, including my 22/45

Oh ya, and I've actually been having really good luck with Armscor ammo that I bought a while back. Runs perfect in everything including my full auto

The maker, SRT, told me unplated ammo isnt good for it if for no other reason than the dirt factor. I had no reason to doubt him. Never used anything other than plated ammo. It does not run any subsonic very well. About 95% is it. Regular plated like golden bullet runs all day hollywood quiet. IF ammo comes back in stock Im going to try the Federal bulk as well.
Sorry for any thread drift. I dont shoot a lot of 22 but I have been wanting a GSG-5 since they came out and may get one even if I dont shoot it much. Add a can if I do.

I like the Federal blue boxes the best, golden bullets, second. I've been lucky enough to live near a Bass Pro and have scored two 525 rnd blue boxes in the past three weeks for $22.99 ea.

Yes, Wolf Match Extra is really good stuff....it's the same exact ammo as SK Rifle Match, just packaged in a different box. Shot great in my rifles, but so does Federal Auto Match for much cheaper.

Edit: Just noticed its "Match Target" in the pic, not "Match Extra." Not sure if its the same, but still probably decent stuff.

Wolf is good stuff. Some of the most accurate ammo in several of my rifles. If you don't want to shoot it and just want your $ out of it, shoot me a pm.

Federal and CCI Blazer. The Remington and Winchester have both given me enough issues to question their overall reliability. The Rem and Winchester both give me multiple FTE or FTF per magazine in my Mossberg Plinkster. Switch to Federal or CCI and can shoot through an entire box without a single FTF or FTE.

Never had many problems with Winchester. Have had few problems with Federal. And I've had Remington that I've literally given away because it wouldn't shoot.

My suggestion is to try out a few different types and see what your firearm likes. Everyone's is different.
