He was pushed out of the CDC. He mentioned he believed the evidence pointed to a leak from the Wuhan lab(back in 2020). Shortly after he was banned from most social media,TV media,and was unable to get any papers published in a journal.

It was not until after the FBI said lab leak a few weeks ago that he was allowed to appear in the media again(pre recorded scripted event). Not really his fault. He did try to tell the truth.

My memory is that he was a squish. Sometimes he’d say something coherent and the next, he’d be towing the company line.
