Does anyone have any experience with 22 cal 50gr varmint grenades out of a .223? I went to the range today with some test loads and they shot more of a pattern than a group, loads were with h322 at 24 gr and again at 25 gr with cci primers. Any input would be appreciated.

    YES!
They have no lead in them and are very long.

A guy gave me a partial box as he couldn't stabilize them in his 1 in 12 twist bolt action.

I tried some in a 1 in 9 AR and they keyholed. Then I tried them in a 1 in 7 twist AR and PRESTO no more keyholes.

I didn't buy any and prefer the 55gr Vmax instead.

I had no problem shooting several good groups with a similar load with a 53gr vmax bt, but I had high hopes for the grenades. These are out of a Howa varmint supreme 1in 12 twist.

denny, make sure they are .224 diameter bullets, Barnes makes a range of "22" diameters for various guns.
I have some that are .222 for example since this is what my Hornet turned out to be when slugged.
Before I slugged it I shot patterns rather than groups as well.

then again maybe you knew that already. was just a thought.
