2013 was the year for the Monkey of the Month.

2014 brought us Disturbed Bunny of the Month.

Now comes 2015. I have the dubious honor to present INGO with what I'm going to call Bacon of the Month for 2015. I hope that I can be as prompt and timely as my *cough* predecessor.

Each month, you'll anxiously await the next delicious bacon recipe, fun bacon facts, and other bacon bits.

So, without further ado, here is the January, 2015 edition of Bacon of the Month!

Goose the Market in Indianapolis has a Bacon of the Month Club where you get a different bacon each month that they cure in house. Even get a tee shirt. And bacon!

$69 plus $128 for overnight shipping?

We got 4 months as a wedding gift, I paid to continue it on for about a year. It got pricey, I didn't renew the last time.

I looked up overnight shipping for 1 lb and it is pricey and it probably is packed in dry ice. I live close to the place but the shipping cost threw me.

I didn't get it shipped, I had to go pick it up every month. Still more that I was willing to pay after a while. Ammo or expensive bacon? Ammo won.

Yeah, if that was for a year it'd actually be competitive with grocery stores, but Goose is a yuppie place, so 3x grocery price doesn't surprise me. I'm not that much of a bacon connoisseur. Smoked pig parts is good for me. For $128 I'd drive down, though. Especially if I could convince them to carry St Agur cheese. That's my favorite.
