Well just got back from the range. Took both new guns (Taurus pt140 And Smith & Wesson sw40ve) First time ether one of them had been fired, ran about 100 rounds through both without any problems. I must be doing something wrong because I was hitting low and left with both guns, but all in all it was a good trip.

Agree with esric. If you're shooting right handed, there is a good chance that you're "jerking" the pistol in anticipation of recoil. It may not feel that way to you, but that is the culprit 99% of the time.

A common drill to try and improve it is to load the mag a few days in advance with some dummy rounds mixed with live rounds. The idea is that if you load in advance there is less of a chance of memorizing where the dummy rounds are or how many are in a mag. The dummy rounds are there so that you can catch yourself "jerking" the pistol low left and self correct.

Ask any of us how we know this...;)

    Hope it helps.
