Wow, her biography is pretty close to Ayres. Communist, murderer, radical. Escaped justice and now teaching our children.

Did she help Jimmy Carter get his campaign off the ground?

I'm in the NE part of the state, and yes, there will be a protest. Different groups from around the state are organizing, and there's protest planned for 5pm.

However, I'm sure that by the time the 24th rolls around, the powers that be will request any and all protesters move their group off of school grounds so as not to interfere with the indoctrination, er educational proceedings.

What's happening to our state? Obama at Notre Dame talking abortions with Catholics, and now a terrorist bomber talking with engineering students at Purdue? Don't they have an ag department down there too (fertilizer - diesel fuel)? I'm just saying, this isn't the best idea that I've ever heard.

And rep going to the alum for pulling his name from the donations list.

Hey! I take offense to that! I'm an LA student at Purdue!

...j/k. I'm LA since I dropped MechE. And I feel dumb every day walking into Beering Hall

I've written 2 letters and also traded emails (one way) with someone from the development office. I have yet to receive a reply from the development office.

I hate the 40 years ago argument as well. We still send ex-nazis guards back to Europe. I guess we are just missing a few bodies?

Here is a copy of the form letter that a friend of mine and I received last week. I wrote the president and it was forwarded to this person.

It really sickens me to know he will speak on campus.

In an effort to withdraw the invitation from Bill Ayers:

The Dean of the College of Liberal Arts is Irwin Weiser. You
can reach his office at 765-494-3663. The President is Francis
Cordova. You can email her office through this contact page:

    Meet The President

If you share my belief this action is detrimental to Purdue
University then please join me in requesting a withdrawal of
the invitation to William Ayers to lecture on September 24.

    Thanks for the link, rambone.
I sent a message to President Cordova expressing my displeasure and requesting that the invitation be withdrawn.

Purdue is my undergrad alma mater and I do expect a considerate response.
    We'll see!

    Letter to the Purdue president:
    Meet The President

Rambone's letter to the president of Purdue said:
I am an alumnus and I would like to express my displeasure that Purdue is inviting William Ayers to speak at Purdue.

A man named SGT Brian McDonnell of the San Francisco Police Department was murdered in 1970 by a bomber who never got convicted. A domestic terrorist and murderer escaped conviction on a technicality. That murderer has been invited to speak to Purdue students on September 24.

Just because he escaped justice, does not mean the country has forgiven or forgotten his crimes. As an alumnus I am very disturbed by this. I hope you will do the right thing and revoke the invitation for Bill Ayers to speak at Purdue. My donations could be better sent elsewhere if he is allowed to speak his radical message to Purdue students.

    Kind regards.

It sickens me that this guy is not an outcast.
While the real men were fighting under our flag in Viet Nam this maggot
was out blowing up bombs in public and a policeman got killed too.
He is still a psycho, I read a quote from him saying jails should be abolished and
people rehabilitated without being locked up.

And now Purdue, great bastion of the free exchange of ideas, is limiting seating to 100, That way, so there won't be any room for OTHER people freely exchanging OTHER ideas — like "terrorist murderers are bad, m'kay"....

Link to today's newspaper: Purdue puts limits on Ayers' visit | jconline.com | Journal and Courier

Not only that, but it seems they are banning recording devices. He is training the next generation of radical marxists to bring about his leftist revolution.

Chris Sigurdson, assistant vice president of external relations, said no attendees -- including media and faculty -- will be allowed to take photos of Ayers during his discussion or make audio or video recordings of the talk.

"We are doing that to prevent people from using what (Ayers) says for reasons other than educational purposes," Sigurdson said.

No overflow rooms for satellite viewing of Ayers' talk will be made available for the same reason, he said.

Tman and I received the same response from Irwin Weiser, Interim Dean. And here's my reply to that response:
    Dear Mr. Weiser,
Thank you for your prompt response concerning William Ayres’ appearance on September 24th.
As noted in my original message to you, my protest is not related to Mr. Ayres’ speech, itself. I protest that you elected to include a person with a history of terrorist bombings into your honorable speakers group of educators, business people and soldiers.
The protest is not about ideas; it’s about the caliber of people you choose to employ.
As a ‘critical consumer’ of information and ideas, I see that you neglected to address the issue and apparently felt that responding in platitudes would make this Purdue grad ‘go away’.
    Sorry, it didn’t work.
Again, thank you for a prompt response.

I received no other reply from Mr. Weiser. This whole episode is very sad, when you stop to think about it.

Good effort JR50. Dont forget to send one to the Purdue President. That goes for anyone else concerned about this, student or not. Thanks for your help.
