Yeah, what we really need is an American Gestapo, to go around killing people instead of, you know, doing the whole "Due Process" thing.

Everything you disagree with is not "libtarded."

If the Federal Government is not bound by the U.S. Constitution when dealing with non-citizens on their own soil, then surely you can point to where the Constitution says that. In my opinion, finding ways around the Constitution is the "Libtard" approach.
Well I think the Israeli Mossad have it right. You kill those who are a threat to the security of your country when they will not stop in their attack against their country.

this doesn't make it an American Gestapo. He is placing American lives and the lives of other allies who are helping this country.

I always liked the film based on the true story of the Mossad in "The Sword of Gideon."

The Declaration of Independence, though a great document, has no force of law.

It was passed by a government that no longer exists.

So did the Constitution disband Congress??????????

    Thought so...

You should take a look at the Bill of Rights... The actual one that is part of the Constitution,,,not the text version... What are the first five words???

Thought so again... The Constitution was a change in procedure,,,not a cancellation of our founding documents...

    Bill of Rights Large View

Remember,,,if what you say is true,,,then the Bill of Rights couldnt have been added to the CONSTITUTION,,,because the Congress would have been destroyed by the CONSTITUTION...

The CONSTITUTION preserved Congress,,,it didnt destroy it or its acts...and i it knew people like you were going to say it did...it would have make itself perfectly clear to people like you...

AMERICA STARTS WITH THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE!!! ITS OUR COUNTRYS FIST LAW!!! --AND ITS BEST!!!

Espionage: the practice of spying or using spies to obtain information about the plans and activities especially of a foreign government.

It absolutely is espionage. I won't lose a minutes sleep if an accident befalls him. Actually I might jump off my self-imposed binging hiatus and drink a 12 pack of beer in honor of the unnamed patriot who does him.

You're 100% wrong. He did not take the information from the source. It was given to him by an analyst/soldier. Why are you pissed off at the journalist? Be pissed off at the kid who gave him the information. From what I understand the soldier passed this information out because he was upset about DADT.

Edit: And I swear to god if you call me an Anarchist/libtard we'll have words.

Who said the Bill of Rights destroyed the 1st U.S. Congress's acts? The Declaration of Independence came from the 2nd Continental Congress, an entirely different governmental body representing the various colonies which at the time might as well have been 13 different countries.

Last I checked he's not in this country. Libtard misinterpretations of the Constitution don't apply.

Oh, and you may not have heard this but the Declaration of Independence was not incorporated in the Constitution. It was an artfully crafted document for it's created purpose - telling the British to go pound sand. In any event, the words you dropped were "that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." I don't see a natural right to expose state secrets enumerated.

I don't remember a constitutional amendment that grants the government a right to secrets.

you are an idiot, if you blindly support and organization that will murder people.

when the government steals it is taxes so its legal.
when the government murders it is punishment or war and it is legal.
when the government lies, it is for our good.
when the government controls a monopoly it is good, if business does this it is evil.

but I guess thats ok as long as your government does it.

Funny thing, I was reading the Wall Street Journal this break period and they had various diplomats from other countries (all mentioned in the leaks) and the reactions were pretty mild and "brush off" in demeanor, especially Russia's response.

Not starting anything, but I would like to know what effects, outside of the responses given so far, have occurred since the leak? Iran still hates us, Russia is still neutral, China secretly hates us still (yet we are intertwined economically, no war yet) and so on. The reactions pretty much amplified and clarified the status quo in international relations with the US.

But, the sticky issue of what to do with the leakers and the WikiLeaks. Personally, run Manning up a pole. Wikileaks? They reported the information, yes, however they were not the source of it. I will agree, the Declaration of Independance is a letter to England threatening to key their card and hit on their girlfriend. No real power, outside of inspiration. 1st Amendment? Are citizens of other nationstates under our mandate? More important question is, what recourse do we have?

Just how many lies do we tolerate before we abandon the facade of the Republic and appoint a dictator? If the people have no need to know about certain things then there is no point in involving the plebeans in elections. Just have the elite run things the way they see fit.

I'm not a big fan of international intrigue. Let your yes be yes and your no be no.

Everybody loves to talk up Israel, but there is one problem with modeling America after them. Israel does not have a constitution.

Which means the Israeli government has no boundaries. People have no recognized & guaranteed rights. NO RIGHTS!! No right to bear arms. No right to privacy. No right to due process. This is a downright scary idea to any Constitutionalist who appreciates the Founding Fathers.

Letting the Government kill any of its enemies without courts, judges, juries, appeals, evidence, witnesses, et cetera, would mean nobody is safe from the biggest mass murdering body in history. And don't forget that conservatives and many people on this board are probably already on some kind of terrorist watch list.

So... letting secret government agents go around with a "License to Kill" would absolutely be an unconstitutional American Gestapo. If the suspects are truly guilty, then they can be brought in for trial, and the freedom-hating government can abide by the U.S. Constitution every step of the way.

Because he is the hero of anarchists and Libtards across the globe. They extol and laud the his principled and brave actions. He is the latest in a long line of a useful idiots to their cause. Look at our resident tweakers and tell me where I'm wrong. BoR protection for someone trying to destroy America one secret document at a time? Promoting him from terrorist to journalist? Please. He's exposing state secrets, not corruption. He's a spy that should be summarily shot.

I hope Manning chokes to death on a broom stick. Any time now will do. I hope that Assange's house blows up with no discernable trace of him left to mourn.

You're 100% wrong. He did not take the information from the source. It was given to him by an analyst/soldier. Why are you pissed off at the journalist? I listed the dictionary definition of espionage in a previous post. I even highlighted it above. Tell my how I'm 100% wrong.

I'm pissed at both of them. Read above out of this thread. He's no journalist. He's an America-hating hacker with an audience. And a pedophile and rapist, if you believe the Interpol arrest warrants out on him.

Am I supposed to be afraid of Internet threats? Yawn.

you are an idiot, if you blindly support and organization that will murder people.

but I guess thats ok as long as your government does it.

I'm an idiot? Good. Here goes. The government has one responsibility. To protect America from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Everything else you said is irrelevent. I am all for the goverenment offing bin Laden. I'm for them offing SKM And I'm for them offing Manning and Assange. SKM and Manning to show others what happens when you kill our citizens and hand classified material to someone who uses it to get people killed. The others because the are a threat to America. Not because they're a threat to the American government. November 2012 is a threat to the government. Seriously.

Argue that without all the other irrelevent stuff.

I don't remember a constitutional amendment that grants the government a right to secrets.

Wow. That was so ... profound. I'll have to think about that for a minute or two.

(You're not holding your breath waiting for me to respond to something so silly are you? Good.)

I would think Mr. Assange would be relatively easy to destroy without going to the trouble of killing him. Just have the NSA guys download a bunch of kiddie porn on his computer and some Australian state secrets. Then, be a good allie and let our Aussie friends know we believe Mr. Assange is a major trafficker in kiddie porn. When the Aussies seize his computers, they find the kiddie porn and state secrets. Let them take care of the prosecution part.

Great line for a reggae song, but not sure it works in the real world. We have enemies. There are things they don't need to know.

mAYBE,,,WE WOULDNT HAVE SO MANY ENEMIES,,,,IF WE LET OUR YES BE OUR YES AND OUR NO be our no???? WE JUST keep the bad cycle going with how we conduct ourselves,,,

With more transparency maybe we wouldnt have so many enemies and we would have a different international reputation???

You cant tell me were on the up and up with everything were doing around the world??? Maybe we should be doing less and needing to keep less secrets...

Im also not cool with the government being in total control over what gets to be secret...

I do not like the fact that these things were released in the manner they were released and I do not condone it. With that said, I also have to state that I do not trust our government, for obvious reasons. Our childrens futures have been compromised to the point that they are indentured servants of the State and I fear that many of our older population are going to be in for a rude awakening when the consequences of this debt and printing start becoming realized. Ireland and France are already sacrificing their pension funds to pay for gross financial negligence, just think about that for a second and let it soak in! Our politicians have allowed the plunder of wealth to continue for far too long and radical, anti-government events like this are only natural. With great power comes great responsibility, and economic treason by our elected officials carries a price, and this is but one of them. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying ...

Respectfully, your argument is naive to the point of complete silliness. Really? If we were nicer and more open we wouldn't have enemies?

Seriously, if there are unicorns on the planet where you live, don't try to feed them. Your grasp on realism is so tenuous I'm afraid you're incapable of even caring for imaginary creatures.

    Don't founder the unicorns.

I absolutely agree with you. However (there's always a however) the thing that either people aren't considering or are willfully ignoring is that not only are these two different issues, they are two different entities.

The espionage is aimed at the United States of America, and America is the victim (I HATE the V word but it is appropriate). The people. The collective. Not the government. The government is not harmed in the least.

The second part of your statement is absolutely true and directed at the correct set of villians.

I don't trust our government either. Does that mean, however, that we shouldn't care about our own national defense?

Not trusting the government stretched to complete disregard for any of its interests is a few steps too far, unless all is already lost.
