It would take a lot to get me to buy a VW, but if that is a real commercial, I am a bit closer. I'm guessing not real, but it should be!

    REAL COMMERCIAL.

And VW's are great cars. I love my little diesel Jetta TDI. Drove up to & back from O'Hare airport yesterday. Went up right through the city on 94, came back on the tollroad (294). Fuel economy for the trip was 44.1 miles per gallon with the AC running and travel speeds were in the 60 to 75mph range when I was not stuck in traffic jams.

I will admit that VWs can get a bit expensive to maintain as they age, my VW Touareg can be costly to keep up. Replaced a headlamp for a couple hundred dollars, but its one of those fancy HID lamps. The 2010 Jetta came with 3 years of free oil changes, free service, etc. Even gave me a free loaner car when my car went in for the 10,000 mile service and they told me it would take a few hours. I'm just shy of 20,000 miles on it at 9 months old and loving this little car. Bought it for my daughter, kept it for myself :D She can have my wife's old Volvo.

I'm a member of the Jetta TDI fan club, too. My 2003 has over 100k on it and I hope to get another 200k. By that time I'll have it converted to vegetable oil I expect...

The electrical systems are a bit wankish, but if you get the manual you can still push start them!
