    I always understood the FA was added due to the WWII surplus powder the army was issuing in the M193s sent to VN, in addition to jungle conditions. It would foul the action so much the rounds wouldn't seat right. Never had to use one myself, though all but one have them. One of my babies is a retro 602 model with the triangle stock, three prong flash, no FA etc. Keeping my eyes open for a bolt carrier with no teeth.

    I would think a bolt carrier with the teeth would be the one to have since you could use it wither with or without the FA. The carrier without teeth is only useful for a small number of guns..
