For punching paper with 240gr JHC Sierra bullets, I have used 8.5-10 grains. I was just given a box of 30 Sierra 180gr JHC projectiles, but can't find any load data for the 700-X powder. Anyone have a good starting point I could use to load them up and get them off my bench?
I just recently began loading 44 mag. 700X is a fast powder for 44 magnum, I would think. I have used 700X for other calibers and dislike it because of poor metering.
Thanks guys. I don't know why I couldn't get Steve's Pages to pull up any data. It will get me through the last of the 180gr projectiles. I could see how metering could be poor with the 700-X. I reload the .44 Magnum by hand. Wouldn't think the Dillon would be too keen on it!
That's good to know. It didn't look like it would meter well at all. Generally, I load my .44s on an RCBS Rock Chucker since I don't load them in mass quantities. I use the Dillon for 9mm, .40, .45, and .223. Thank you for the info. I may have to start using it for 45 LC since a co-worker just bought a Gatling gun/canon!
He's gonna be burnin' through that faster than I can produce it on a single stage.
