I currently own a 1989 Kawasaki KLR250, 1996 Suzuki DR350SE(wife's bike), 2003 KTM 525EXC(Indiana plated), and 2013 Honda XR650L. All my bikes are dual sport bikes. We rode the Trans American Trail through Tennessee on our honeymoon. I borrow my dads Honda shadow 1100 if me and the wife want to do some two up riding. I ride a '04 Honda Hornet 599 I bought a year and a half ago. It's been a good "return to riding" bike that's still a lot of fun even after 3,000 miles or so.

Occasionally, I get the itch to upgrade to an 899 Hornet for the fuel injection and full tune suspension, front and rear.
