    Rugged conditions is yes.

    A short one is a no go. You can use one that is retractable. You can use one that is like a slinky. But it must be able to extend across you full arm span.

    Second that.

    Not sure that I would want something dangling down around my knees while wondering rugged terrain or trying to maneuver in rapids.

    Speaking from experience, lanyard is a good idea for troops in CZ, but a bad idea for civilians who carry. Too much to get in the way. :twocents:
