Dont own one now, but one of my first hadguns was one of their 99 beretta clones in a stainless finish. Gawd I still kick myself for letting it go. It was smooth as butter, accurate and was a flawless performer for me.
Buddy o' mine got a used PT140 and I haven't seen it fail him in about 3 years. BUT... a couple weeks ago the trigger connecting bar (think thats right) just broke when he was dry firing. Taurus is taking care of it though and it should be good to go soon.
PT140 Millineum addition was my 1st handgun..Its very compact for a 40 cal..I still have it to this day and love it...I rotate what I carry so they dont feel left out...
I owned a pt145 pro that wasn't a bad little gun. I can say I never had any problems out of it. But I can say I've had a lot of other guns since that I've liked better
I had two Taurus model 608 357 mag 8-shot revolvers with different barrel lengths. Both of them had problems where I had to take it to the gunsmith. There are some nightmarish stories abuot guns being sent back to Taurus under warrenty and being there for a year or so. I think Taurus quality is hit & miss. Everything I've read about the raging bull series sounds top notch.
I have owned a variety of Taurus handguns over the past 25 years, never had a problem with any of them. My current house gun is a .40 cal. 24/7 it has never had a malfunction and that's why I trust it to be my primary HD weapon.
Had the 617 Total Titanium. Really liked it but wanted a Smith worse. The 617 carried better. Still have a PT22, my son calls it the "noisy crickett". No issues with either gun.
I like my Taurus 85UL better than my S&W j frames that I've had in the past. The trigger, IMO, is MUCH better on my Taurus than on my M60 or my 342ti. The S&W's look better, but I can hit what I'm shooting at with Taurus. Go figure.
I am looking into getting one still not sure on which one yet. The two choices I am thinking about are RAGING BULL MODEL 444 .44 MAG. or a TRACKER MODEL 627 .357 MAG.
