Looking for a range in the Indy area where I can shoot my M&P 15....seems most are limited to handgun caliber only. Anyone know where rifle caliber is ok?

+1 on Beech Grove. Shot there several times with a .223 and it's one of the nicest ranges around. Website says rifle calibers up to .300WM.

Atterbury Shooting Complex. It's a little bit of a drive, you can shoot out to 100. It is a very nice facility, but it is rather restrictive on what you can do. I.E. paper targets only, no rapid fire, no transitions and under constant RO control.

WW out in New Castle will. it's a drive and it's only a 50 yard range, but if you get there early on weekdays, you can normally have the place to yourself. I've fired my .223, 762x54r and .30-06 there. Once I saw a guy with a Barrett .50- which was hilarious and awesome at the same time.

Is it similar rules to Atterbury? I'd like to practice some double or triple repetitions but haven't found a place.

+1 for beech grove firearms!!! They even give you a free target!

Stay away from atterbury unless you want range officers treating you bad and very restrictive rules. Like making you wait a full 1 to 2 seconds between each round fired.

I know its not "close to Indy" but in a relative sense it is by far the most fun in my opinion, that would be Bass and Buck in Wabash. Out from 25 to beyond 700 yards if you have the desire! Great staff, only about $15 for the day! No restrictions under 50cal.

Fall Creek Valley Conservation Club currently has a 100 yard range, and they're supposed to be expanding to a 200 yard range soon. It's a membership only range, but it's 50 bucks a year, and they have a lot of events. It's a $1 range fee to shoot all day.

Eagle Creek was gonna be up to 308. That was shot down and it's back to pistol calibers only.

I second Atterbury. The strict rules protect us from the newbies. Look at the baffles and it will explain part of this. I don't do stupid stuff and I haven't really had much problem there. Other than cold range time will take a while but is offset by a low hourly rate.

Depending on where your at in Indy, you may want to consider Linden Conservation Club. 25, 50 and 100 yd rifle ranges - multiple skeet /clay ranges, $75 /year family membership - about 45 mile North of Indy. Few restrictions.

Beech Grove firearms is excellent range, in answer to your double/triple tap question. Beech Grove is full auto friendly....that should answer your question, LOL

I thought I read that eagle creek allows up to 308. 50 yards is max though. Its the closest im aware of. Inside 465

I thought Eagle Creek is traditional handgun calibers only but I'll call them to confirm. Thanks

^^^^ This... ECPR made the announcement and the City of Indianapolis was very quick to say that it can't be done with the liability insurance the city has. or something along those lines.
