I used to deliver for another Food service and have enjoyed the Gordons bacon several times. It is packed in a single serving 5lbs. box.
The heat in the canning process pre-cooks the bacon for you... you don't need to pre-cook it before canning. It may not come out of the jar like you prefer your bacon, but at that point it is completely safe to eat (assuming it was canned properly).Or if you are frugal like me: Can your own bacon Not precooked, but still ITS CANNED BACON. BlueEagle told me this needs to be the first thing I learn how to can.
