Any Ham Operators near Laporte?

I got my technicians license some years ago but never went on to use it for anything. I am almost in the position to buy a new radio and am looking for a little guidance. I live close to Laporte.

The LaPorte Hamfest is Feb 25. It is a small one but usually pretty good. It is listed on the club website.

The LaPorte and Michigan City radio clubs merged January 1 to form the LaPorte County Amateur Radio Club. I 'm located in Michigan City. I haven't been very active in recent years, but I'm getting back into it, and would be happy to help however I can.

The LaPorte Hamfest is a bit smaller than it used to be, but it's still a pretty good one.
