    Carlin was a graduate student of humanity. His insights and being able to translate them into a medium that made people want to listen to him is why he will always be one of my favorite performers.

    OP if you haven't really listened to Carlin's work, I urge you to do so. He provoked thought and introspection in the listener on a level most clergy pray for. Yes, he was raunchy, foul mouthed, and raw quite a bit, but that should never take away from the genius that he possessed.

    RIP Mr Carlin, I will forever be a fan.
