    Two things happening here.

1- Stockpile ammunition of all types to have ready if/when civil unrest breaks out.
2-Deplete the ammunition supply to the general populace long enough and you deplete the ammunition stockpile of the same demographic through attrition.
They shoot it up, then can't find replacements.

This is all done in preparation for, or to help mitigate, any civil unrest.

Reading that article it looks like the whole government is becoming an armed camp. I wonder if all their pushing we the people is starting to scare them?

The government is just stockpiling it so they can sell it as surplus at some point in the future.

Always looking out for the little guy! :yesway:

There's a lot of stories of where a government agency has a set budget for a year and if they don't use all of it, they have a smaller budget for next year. There's stories of air bases running their jets for 2 days just to burn the gas they had on hand so they could purchase more. You guys ever see the movie Falling Down?

Besides, government purchases under pretty much every department, it lets them order large amount of ammo at a discounted price and helps lock in ammo prices

The government orders ammo. Not that scary of a thought. Big deal. But people who follow infowars and all the other "gummerment is buying EVERYTHING" articles is what leads a lot of paranoid people to buy all the ammo they see because if the government has it, he has to have it.

Maybe we just need to do away with armed mail inspectors, then they can save all that money they are spending on ammo and training, and get closer to being back in the black.

remember, there's nothing about Ammo mentioned in the 2nd Amendment.

ammo control is a way to get around the TCOUS implementing gun control.
