I received 2 firearms the other day to refinish. Both had been done by someone who claimed to be a "certified" Duracoat refinisher. At first glance it appeared to be a case of bad prep work. Easily enough. However, after disassembling and a nice dunk in my degrease solution the coating instantly melted and peeled off. This so called "certified" Duracoat refinisher used spray paint. It was enough to make me want to vomit. Below are some photo of how it looked before. Take note on the lazyness of the application. So, if you get a good deal on a refinishing job be aware. You always get what you pay for.

Too lazy to remove the hand guard. Screw it. We'll just coat around it.

Wow, left the entire forend on the 870. Even my own done at home rattle can work shows a lot more attetention to detail. It is almost hard to believe someone who charges money for their work did this.

I have seen some work from a central Indiana gun "smith" that is a joke.

I have not had him do any of my stuff so I feel its not my place to out him.

NO WAY I'd even make it to the door falling for that crap... I'd have posted his name here by now. No need for a legit competitor to do it. That's how I roll...

Did you just give a hint? If it's who I think it is, he owes me four screws for my Taurus 850 and a screw for my ruger 10-22 leaving both guns unusable ...
