One thing that is never discussed is why the Jews have been able to establish an economically vibrant economy in Israel, with a high standard of living, while the "Palestinians" live in a sh*t hole, despite having billions of dollars flow into their pockets from the West.

Is it a case of "Inshallah?"

Culture matters. Cultures that stress the importance of education and business acumen tend to do better than those that embrace victimhood and blame others for their failures.

And I am not just talking about Jews. Look at Asians. They get it. They understand how to succeed (and so do a lot of other groups with entrepreneurial spirit). It is unfortunate, but too many groups prefer to sit on their asses and blame others for their failings.

Step one is to stop blaming others for your failings. Get off your ass. Wanting a better life for yourself and your family (greed) is not a bad thing - it is a good thing. If you fail, don't wallow in your misery, get back up and try again. Learn from your mistakes.

Of course, it is a lot easier to just fall into self-pity and mutter "Inshallah." :dunno:

I think it helps if your religion and government (same thing for most Muslim countries) aren't mired in the 8th century.
