AK side mount on Galil ?

I would like to put an AK side rail scope mount base on a Galil.
Has anybody done this ?
Who carries the base and over the bore mount ?

Nice shooting, great price,accurate, whats not to like but no way to put a scope on it the way I want to.
Yes, I have heard that there are bad ones out there. Not interested if you would stay away, am interested if anybody knows where I can get an AK side rail mount and base.

We are just messing man. I have personal experience with these is all. A simple Google search provided an easy option with a PRI mount. Costs around $100. The Galil (Golani) is not an optic-friendly platform to begin with. What kind of scope are you looking to get for it? If it is a Red-Dot, UTG makes a Quadrail for it. An AK sidemount is going to be a pain since the Galil is a milled receiver vs. the stamped AK.

You couldnt mount a POSP mount on a Galil?

All you have to do is properly align "level" the plate to the receiver, milled or stamped you can still tap and mount this optic plate.
as long as your taps are clear of any obstructions on the inside and you can press your rivets, simple riveting and a drill press is all you need.

But then again I never seen the inside of a Galil before, but im sure there's clearance for 3 small rivets GOTTA BE!!!


I was going to mount a PSOP to an AMD65. The stock would have not folded back 100%. But it was possible for me to do with these kits.

Yup that mount from daves is Russian btw cheap too! Check out steel city armory for your optics they are authentic and cheaper than the rest.

I would find a mount and see if it would clear your rivets, If it clears and its in an area where you can work with the placement then its possible. Mount links given earlier in the thread.

i actually have the first mount listed for sale in my WTS section, however you can have it for free if you promise to do a write up on the install process. You also have to come to me to pick it up

I would but I don't even have a golani yet. I am in the process of deciding which gun to choose. Ak47/74 ar-15 kit from del-ton or golami kinda in between those. Gotta save up some money first...... not easy for abroke college student. I appreciate the offer tho. I am thinking if I can't install a side rail ill either go ak-47 or maybe a saiga and convert later
