In my neck of the woods, Brazil/Terre Haute area, there isn't much a selection. Top Guns is open now and they have a nice selection but currently don't have a 74 in stock. Anyone know of a shop within a reasonable travel time that usually has any in stock.

Not really looking to spend 900$ on an Arsenal so maybe someone with a lower to mid quality?

The cheap and good Ak74 boat has sailed.

Best bet is to order online or watch the classifieds on this site and ARFcom for a decent deal.

Buy once, cry once. Make damn sure it has an original foreign barrel.

Yeah, I'm not looking for anything amazing for cheap. Just something middle of the road 4-600 bucks. It's going to be for my son so no need for a 900 Arsenal, lol.

Yeah, I've seen several online but was looking for something within reasonable driving distance of my area that I could look over before purchasing. Top Guns said they could order me one but looking for something I can inspect before buying, hence lookin for any shop that might have any.

There will be a ton at the Indy 1500...

Not true. The 1500's of late have not had very many quality Ak's to speak of.

    I usually attend every 1500...

The one shop that at the 1500 does carry quality Ak's is Midwest gun exchange, they usually have a several Arsenal's to choose from.

    WASR does not = Ak74.

I too have been looking for a 74 with no luck other than online retailers. I'd love to find a Saiga 5.45 and convert that, but around here all I ever see are .223s. I finally came across a 7.62 and snatched that up in a hurry.

If I felt competent enough to do it myself I would consider this route, but I'd probably blow myself up, :):.
