Cool your jets, Sarah Brady. If laws had anything to do with it, more likely it was airline regulations and being discovered that way. Assuming he could get to Chicago with the guns (drive), I see no law that would have done anything to stop him from getting them into the hotel room.

As a pilot who owned two aircraft, TSA regs were a moot point for him!

Yeah, 5'10" and 255lbs...I was that guy. We were doing a cross country assault exercise in the southern Alps in Feb back in the late '70's. I jumped over a hedge, steel pot, cigar, poncho toting the -60. The evaluator said "My God, it's Vick Morrow".
