Heard this when my radio alarm clock went off a few minutes ago.

Don't know this will turn into anything really serious. Apparently still in progress.

Gunman has barracaded himself in a room. Apparently 7 shot, with casualties.

Park police air extricating victims for transport to hospital

But NBC saying 10 victims

Rumors circulated the suspect was down, but police confirmed he is still "hiding between floors". Most likely on the move still.

Last report he is barricaded in a room and currently in a standoff with police & SWAT. How does someone just walk onto a US Naval Yard and start shooting?

Yeah that's what I thought when I heard that! I was actually surprised it took them so long to assume it was an AR....I got a kick out of the reporters saying there are police officers everywhere wearing armor!! Don't they always?? lo

D.C. is full of gun free zones that's how. And that yard is where they build and maintain Navy ships. I doubt anyone outside of security is armed.

Well......
The "What gun did the ***hole use" debate has begun.
The initial reports said he had a shotgun.
Now it has morphed into an "AR 15 ASSAULT RIFLE JUST LIKE THE MILITARY ISSUES TO OUR TROOPS!!"
I guess they had to change it since if it was a shotgun the NRA would blame it on Joe Biden.

MPD confirms at least 10 shot - 8 civs, 1 cop, 1 base security

NBC seems uncertain as far as shooter's "capture".

Remember, half of the "facts" during these sorts of events are inaccurate.

Also, can we stop *****ing about guns and politics for a sec? This is an ongoing event with fatalities. Be better than that.

I won't watch any national news outside of Fox News. They haven't said anything about the shooter being captured or wounded. They just did say reports are confirming as many as 8-10 now dead and many injured.

Multiple sources now telling WRC there are "at least two shooters."

Again, fog of war in effect here, could be misinformation and speculation

If there is, indeed, more than one shooter... that changes absolutely everything about this event.
