He means the Greatest Generation that survived the depression, and then banded together to defeat the greatest tyranny ever seen by man; liberated Europe and stopped a Nazi totalitarian mass-murderer from enslaving hundreds of millions, maybe the world.

Today most people couldn't tell you when WWII occurred, much less the lessons of failed socialist policies from a few democrat presidents. The oblivious sheep haven't learned from history, and will be doomed to repeat it. Let's hope it doesn't take another Great War to defeat tyranny.

Yes rambone "that" great generation! I'm not saving they were all saints or did not do wrong but as a whole they did better than my generation is doing (Generation X) and those that have come afetr me (Generation Y, new Melimium). Ramboe says it beat look at some of those "on the street interviews" with Jay Leno or anyone else where they ask basic civil history question.

    "Who is the current VP"
    "Who is pelosi"
"How many states in the union"
"Who were the allies in WWII"
    etc..

and 95% of the people do not know! Yet ask them "Who won dancing with the Starts Season 1" and they can give you the ENTIRE line up!

I just can't understand how this CCTV thing can happen? It is so immoral! They will no longer even have privacy in the sanctity of their own homes!!!

Everywhere I look there is some new government regulation, some new corrupt power grab, some new spread of TYRANNY. The world is becoming an evil & scary place.

I don't know which is worse, the government that tries this nonsense, or the sheep that allow it. Watching the downward spiral of the Uk I sometimes wonder if we didn't pick the wrong side in WW2.

I'll assume you're 'choosing' between helping the Europeans we did, or not doing anything in Europe. Germany under Hitler was already under such controls as Britain is now implementing. Not the same technologies, of course, but the same mindsets...

I think if we'd done nothing in Europe, we'd never had the "Bomb", They would have and they would have used it. After Hitler took England over, and their Uboats dominated the Atlantic, whose to say they wouldn't have used it here on the East Coast allowing Japan to conquer US?

I'm glad we did what we did and I, like many Americans, will not apologize or regret our decisions back then.

It's the sheeples fault they let this happen over there. To hell with them. If they want to be our friends, FREE YOUR PEOPLE.

Can't save it better than SE. Hitler would **NOT** had been happen until the ENTIRE world would have been under his control. He wanted to do what Alexander The Great and the Romans attempted before him. Total world domination under 1 command. That I fear will only occur when the alliens land on our planet and the world goes mad and puts the UN in charge of the federation of countries of the planet earth.

Sadly it may be too late for the people of england. They can NOT free themselves not becuase they dont' have guns (yeah that is one up hill battle) but BECAUSE they no longer have the SPIRIT to fight! Look at the comments. They see nothing wrong with this. Once you have taken the spirit out of the animal he will no longer fight.

Look at the lions they capture and place in a zoo. As the years go by that killer instinct dies out being imprisoned in that cage. Plus his off springs have no concept of the free world as the zoo keeper has supported him. And thus UK's people now is nothing but a caged offspring's animal whose forefathers were once wild but no more.

Big Brother is Watching Britain: Government Announces 24-Hour CCTV Surveillance for Bad Parents

LONDON, August 5, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The British government will force thousands of the "worst" families in the country to live with 24-hour CCTV surveillance in a bid to cut back on child abuse and neglect, the Children's Ministry has said. In the next two years the government plans to expand an existing family monitoring program from 2000 families to 20,000 at a total estimated cost of £400million.

Despite growing complaints that New Labour's new Britain has in the last ten years become the most spied upon nation in the world, ahead of even China, the Labour government announced late last month that 20,000 "problem families" who have run afoul of social services officials will be watched around the clock and subjected to surprise inspections by government agents.

The new rules will begin by focusing on truancy, alcohol abuse or reports of malnutrition. Parents will be monitored to make sure children go to bed on time, eat proper meals and attend school.

"This is pretty tough and non-negotiable support for families to get to the root of the problem. There should be Family Intervention Projects in every local authority area because every area has families that need support," said Children's Secretary Ed Balls in announcing the massive expansion of the surveillance program.

The Family Intervention Projects already exist in half the councils in the country. These so-called government "sin bins" are the latest addition to what is being called the "most watched" culture on earth. Last month, Teaching unions in London expressed their concerns about the installation of dozens of CCTV cameras in Stockwell Park High School in south London. While the school's headmaster, Mike Rush, insisted that the move had the support of most parents and teachers, Association of Teachers and Lecturers general secretary Mary Bousted said, "This all sounds very Big Brother-ish."

Bousted said, "We have major reservations about using CCTV to monitor staff. It would be hard to see how teachers would act naturally if they knew they might be being watched all the time on camera."

A recent report found that Britain has a staggering 4.2 million CCTV cameras - representing 20 percent of cameras globally - watching its citizens in the name of safety. However, police have admitted that the cameras do little to cut back on the increasing rates of violent crime.

The cameras are found in even the smallest rural villages, and it is estimated that there is one camera for every 14 people in the country. It has been noted that within 200 yards of the former home of George Orwell, the anti-authoritarian author of the iconic novel 1984, the city of London has installed 32 CCTV cameras, in addition to the hundreds of privately-owned cameras in the neighborhood.

In 2007, the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE) issued a report warning that "Big Brother tactics" could eventually put lives at risk. Security systems are "vulnerable to abuse, including bribery of staff and computer hackers gaining access to it," they said.

The RAE report followed a warning by the Government's Information Commissioner Richard Thomas that excessive use of CCTV and other information-gathering was "creating a climate of suspicion."

How do you get put on the bad parents list? Do you have to be convicted of child neglect first? If these people all ready have been convicted and as a condition of parole or something I could see this as a good thing. If you land on the list by some other arbitrary way then that’s the English citizens fault.
Our country was formed by some of these people’s ancestors, and then they eventually get a form of democracy. I need to Google up "How England became a democracy".

Ever hear of the 4th Amendment? Be glad you have it.

Britain obviously doesn't. And unless you are serving time in prison, I don't think the Government has any business taking away your God-given, unalienable rights. This one being the Reasonable Expectation of Privacy.

The role of Government was never to raise anyone's kids. This is the beginning of Tyranny.

It seems the articles about the CCTV cameras in homes may not be entirely correct... not that it changes much.

    DCSF News

Respect - Members - What is a family intervention project?

I just wonder when the UK will wake up and do something about their government... :dunno:

Hmm.... well that's contrary to what several articles are saying. I don't know if DCSF has the final word or not, or if they are just feeding us a line of cra@p to muddle the issue. (Similar to our leadership).

Regardless, if its not on a voluntary basis, I find it very questionable.
