    This was a range pick-up (not by me), it has a telescoping piston in the base and no marking of any kind. I had a couple thoughts, both of which are probably wrong. Thought one was some type of fastener round, thought two was a bit more convoluted, the piston would start in the compressed position and act as an accelerator for a sub sonic round fired in a suppressed semi auto much as the barrel system on a 22 conversion for the 1911 is used to operate the slide on it. Case appears to be aluminum.

    Anyone have any thoughts on this? I have googled every idea I could come up with and nada...

    They are a little pricey not something you want to go out and spray n prey last time I looked they were around $30-$40 a box of 50 for 9mm. I dont know if they are available to the general public they were in one of our police supply magazines.
