We were watching a show on tv a couple weeks ago that had quite a few scenes involving wolves. There was a fairly long scene where the wolves were howling. Our shepherd was laying on the couch sound asleep, but perked up when the howling started, then HE started howling! Our other two dogs got up and went in the other room. :lmfao:
When I was a kid, my parents had this album:

Our dog at the time (wirehaired fox terrier) would just tense up and shake whenever I'd play it. :):

    Near the big river.
I used to hunt a woods that wasn't far from a small private zoo. It was pretty strange to be sitting in my tree stand in the Indiana woods, and hear their big male lion roaring in the distance.
When the kids were little we went to a local zoo. It was in Northern CA. They had a huge male lion. On this trip he was roaring as loud as he could. I got up to the double fence, maybe 15' from him. It was an incredible experience. So loud I could feel the sound in my body.
