I read somewhere that the rifles that where found in the guys truck was a "high power" .22lr (lol) and a pelot rifle:dunno:

I dont know if they had any other rifles somewhere else but it seems to be there was no way in heck they where going to make that shot. That is why the police where quick to point out that it was'nt a creadible threat eventhough the anti-gun press was pointing out that he was in actual danger....

seriously? .22lr a high power? That must mean my 7mm Rem Mag must be a canon and a 50bmg is an asteroid.

10/10 on a 9" dinger off a rest on my cousins back porch, 700ADL in '06. 3/4 prairie dogs off the same mound in Montana with a Ruger #1 in .223, gust of wind screwed #4. All were with hand loads before the eyes went south. Did shoot expert in the Corps with an M-14 though [back when they still issued a spear and shield with our 782 gear].

Yea this is a really old thread. Anywho, I didn't see it posted, but check this video out.

860yds with a .223 out of an AR. Yes, it's extremely calm with almost zero wind and there's hardly elevation, but it's still possible.e
