44 Mag Lever Action ammo

I just bought a marlin 1894 in a 44 mag. for deer hunting.
Suggestions for a good hunting round? Factory or Reload

Horandy 240gr XTP.. Shoots very well out of my Marlin 1894 and my Ruger Deer Field.. Good round for out of the box..

I would go with the XTP, excelent hunting bullet. My Rossi tends to favor the 300gr. XTP, driven by a heavy dose of h-110. Every XTP I have hit a deer with has dropped in its tracks, and the few I have recovered showed good expansion, and typically through and through penetration.

This is my deer load for my 1894ss. It's the only factory load I shoot from a handgun caliber all year for anything. I simply can't improve on it by reloading. I took a moving yote not long ago with it at a confirmed 238 yards as well.

I have this same rifle. Mine loves the 240 gr. XTP pushed my 20 gr. of 2400.
