so .41 has a .410 bore, and .405 Winchester bores vary ( from limited research) from .410 -.413, I'm wondering could I get away with using heavy 300 grain .405 Winchester bullets in a .41 mag handload? could I also load .41 mag 210 gold dots in a .405 winchester. I am of course talking projectiles and not loaded rounds.

    what says ingo?

With the right load recipes, yes...you can use bullets from one to shoot from the other. Performance will depend on the intended velocity range of the bullet in question.

Using pistol projectiles has been discussed at length on AccurateReloading.com, mostly in discussion about the 450/400 Nitro and some on 405 Winchester as well - not that it makes any difference either way.

I don't know that I've seen a discussion about using the rifle projectiles in a 40 caliber handgun though.

I just thought if I could go with heavy .405 bullets safely it would be an off teh shelf solution to getting heavier bullets in the .41 mag I already have.
