I'm interested in trying one of these, as well, if reliable. I have a Surefire 60 round mag that many said was not reliable, but mine has been 100%. Maybe lucky.
PMAG 40 is all I buy anymore. (other than drums and Surefire 60s)
Yes it's long and if you are bench shooting with it you need a higher rest - I don't care. Mine have been very reliable in my ARs and guns that take an AR mags. They do go on sale at times.
BTW- All my Surefire 60s have been reliable also yet I still see videos about them jamming.
I was curious as well, saw them on sportsman's guide. I decided to go ahead and order 5 of their 30 rounders shipped for $41 though. Too cheap to pass up.
Haven't had any issues with the 40 round P mags. They are longer than the 30s, whether the extra leignth is worth it or not is up to you. I just got a 60 round drum but haven't had a chance to use it yet.
I have four 40 round P-Mags and they've all functioned as expected. They don't like to stay put in Taco mag pouches very well. I'm not disappointed with them, but I'll be sticking with 30rnd pmags in the future.
I have 6 of the 40rd magpuls,in sand color which is really too white for me but thats a easy fix, they all shoot the same with no FTF and they are gen 3
I've got two and they haven't had any hiccups. However, they're just not my cup of tea--the extra length makes the gun just a little awkward, especially at the bench, and you'll either need open-top pouches or AK pouches to carry them.
It is nice being able to just dump two boxes of ammo into it without worrying about loose rounds or anything, though
I've got 4 or so of them. I've used them with both 223 and 300blk. I think I've even done a full auto mag dump or two using them and I haven't had any issues at all with them. Buy in confidence!
I have a few and haven't encountered any problems yet. They are obviously longer than the PMAG 30's but a reliable alternative to other "higher capacity" magazines.
