    I also use FMJ rounds in my Kahr P380. I worry that the JHP rounds, especially coming out of such a short barrel, will not achieve proper penetration.

    Keep in mind there are two factors at play here.

    1. How well it feeds in your gun.
    2. How well it penetrates/expands when it hits your target.

    Since most of haven't shot anyone yet, we're left to base #2 off of informal studies and youtube videos. Everyone can point to a brand of ammo and say it does or does not penetrate or expand as advertised. Yadda yadda yadda.

    But I KNOW that Hornady Critical Defense feeds 100% in all four of my .380s.

    That's good enough for me.

    Like many others here, my favorite load is 90 gr Gold Dot; however, if your gun is ammo sensitive I would go with the Hornady Critical Defense because the bullet profile will allow it to feed better than many other traditional type hollow points.
