I've been doing a little light reading and I've come up with a question that I need help with.

    I have a .327 fed/mag, and I also have a Nagant pistol (7.62x38R).

All of the reloading books I've looked at say that I can run .32H&R Magnum, .32 S&W Long, and .32 S&W through my .327 with no problems.

I've also read that I can run .32S&W Long through my Nagant pistol. So, they are the same diameter rounds, which brings us to my question.

Can I run .327fedmag through my Nagant pistol?
According to the books I've looked at, the 7.62x38R has a chamber pressure of 51,500psi while the .327fedmag is only running about 45,000psi.

This sounds like I should be able to run the .327 through my Nagant. Am I reading this correctly? Is there anything I'm missing here?

I don't plan to change this pistols diet, but it's nice to know what will safely interchange.

I wouldn't guarantee it. Let's say you have a rifle that takes .22 mags, but can also shoot .22 shorts. You also have a .22 lr pistol that feeds .22 shorts. This doesn't necessarily mean that you can shoot .22 mags from your .22 lr handgun.

I'm trying to compare pressure levels between the two casings, but can't find any data for CUP/PSI on the 7.62x38R. Looks like the 327 Fed, with heavier jacketed bullets, runs between 37k-42k psi. If your specs are correct on the pressure, it seems as though it would work.

Factory gas seal length on reloaded Nagant ammo is 1.515", about 0.05" longer than the stated 327 Fed OAL. So there may be issues with sealing. Again, hypothetical. I've never loaded 7.62x38R.

A very good question, I'll ask around the web and see what other forums say. At the moment I wouldn't do it personally. I've shot the .327 fed mag and it's a snappy little round. It punches a nice little kick while the nagant I have shoots with a recoil of a 32S&W short.

I've put nothing but 7.62x38R in mine to date. I do have a stock of .32S&W, .32S&W Long, and .32H&R magnum. Just wondering.
