How easy is 300 blk to find, and cost difference on the 2?
depends on your preferences. That's like asking what kind of a car should you drive.I've never done any reloading, how much is it to get a full kit to do it?
That's the only thing that worries me about 300. With the sbr I'm building in trying to make it quiet as possible for fun, so I feel like 300 is the only way to go.If you like to shoot a lot keep it .223.
I hand load and my 300 resides in the back of the safe since it costs twice as much to shoot as .223 for the same money spent. Sort of wish I would have kept it a .223.
If you want to hunt and or take advantage of full sound suppression 300 is it. Keep in mind it is more expensive and also a little harder to load for if trimming and forming your own brass.

Worth it to keep an extra upper for the 556 around though?
