Yep, might as well. The first book is sorta boring at parts but the remaining books really move fast.

I thought it was kind of silly at first when I read it. But thinking about it, they made effective use of them against sheeple who didn't know any better.

It's actually a pretty good series. When I first started reading, and I was going through his backstory, I was thinking I wouldn't like it, but it turned out to be pretty decent once I got past that.

I haven't read that one my buddy said it wasn't like lights out. It's worth a try I think lights out. One second after is my favorite that's just me

One Second After ruled. You might check out Slow Apocalypse (Slow Apocalypse: John Varley: 9780425262139: Amazon.com: Books ) It's nowhere near as good as One Second After, but I like the books where it isn't about some badass or ex-badass military guy. It's more interesting when it is some average joe.

I agree with you 110% and you know what my name is Joe!! I will buy it now! One second after is a great wake up call and really helped me understand what would be needed and the choices that would have to be made if we ever come to that.

I imagined it was like how Survivors and Founders sucked, but Patriots was pretty good. People pressure authors to pump out stories before they're ready and the authors know that people will most likely buy crap stories based upon the quality of the original.

Yup, pretty much like that. 299 days hasn't been the case. Each story builds on, and is a continuation of the previous hooks. The first book was a little slow, but I feel it was needed to build the character base for the rest of the series.
