I found 14" & even 21" barrels for this Contender.
I could be tempted to get a longer barrel if I could be assured it would be worth the expense.
Today, this proved to be the most accurate handgun I now have. :wow:
Yep , have owned my Contender for 34 years and the accuracy of the barrels I've had has been very good to excellent. In rimfire I have two of the 10" 22 match barrels. Have a 10" 357 that came with the original frame and a Super 14 in .223.

Last dance at the range today for one of these two Browning Buckmarks since I need to sell one of them b/c of recent acquisitions. :spend:
It has taken me weeks to determine which gets "trimmed" since I love them both.
    - Browning Buckmark Plus Vision Black/Gold 5.9"
    - Browning Buckmark Pro Target 5.5"

The both shoot "the samish" depending on the day & what ammo used.
Today was Armscor 36 grain HP.
The Pro Target barely edged out the Plus Vision.
The last range visit I had determined since the Pro Target was heavier, I preferred it.

Comparing the groups of each 8 circles today, the Pro Target had a couple smaller offerings at 1/2" or less, than the Plus Vision.
But, when comparing 3/4" or less, they were the same.

30' (Incorrectly labeled 21' :wallbash:), at 1.75" circles.
    I only use 21' with non-optic guns.
I was using my Romeo red dots with both of these, which I'm keeping.

Went out with tx22 compact and my cz75 with kadet kit today. Got about thirty minutes of shooting in before the rain came. Both were shooting >95% on the official doddg accuracy tests.

Range to myself and someone even left some clay pigeons lined up on the target line. 25 yards and was 6/6 hitting the pigeons with the compact. That was way more impressive to me than the percent accuracy at 8-10 yds

Just someone else with sense trying to make sure you don’t sell the better gun(vision)
I have put off this decision for awhile b/c I have regretted letting a gun get away from me before.
However, something Tristan tried to teach me finally registered.
Go with what you like & enjoy shooting, not just what is the most accurate.
I know that I "like" the heavier Pro Target a tad more & it is ever so slightly more accurate.
    Win-win:
    - Weight: 34 oz/Pro Target
    - Weight: 27 oz./Plus Vision

Only 7 ounces difference, but feels so much more substantial to my hand.

Clay pigeons or steel plates are fun, but don't bring a smile like cloverleafs do.
Way more impressive to see cloverleafs on a paper target than hitting 4" clay pigeons.
There is a definite fun factor of seeing it explode or hearing the ding of a steel plate.

I had a little. 22 range fun last week end. CZ 457Lux and a Winchester model 52c with the original unertl scope from 1965 I think??
I an toying with the idea of benchrest shooting. This was the first sight in and plinking at 50 yards. Not great groups but a good start i think

    I use those targets also!
The CZ 457 Lux would be a great gun to be using at 50 yards.

I'm actually going to try 100 yards in a week or 2. I have never really shot at any distance with anything. Always been a 21ft or 7 yard pistol shooter. I started branching out with the .22 rifles and I'm really liking it. Sort of a slower relaxed kind of shooting. From what I understand a inch or 2 at 100 yards is a respectful start.

I'm certainly happy with 2" groups
    @ 100yds!
I haven't had any rifle range time this summer,
b/c of 465 being problematic getting to MCFG.
Last summer I only got there 4 times because of 465.
Hopefully, construction will be done by next summer.
I'll take any range time above 40° whenever it gets done, ha ha!

Couple hundred rounds of 22 mag dumps breaking and checking functionality on a lcp 22 that was having problems. The problems were the ammo used initially imo.

Picture just to give doddg a heart attack to see me not actually aiming and shooting well LOL

Since the SW 17-2 didn't sell after 3 weeks, I ordered the larger rubber Hogue grips since I was curious if my accuracy would improve. :spend:
It has on other guns, so I knew it would. :coffee:
Better accuracy = more range fun. :rockwoot:
I've done that with many a revolver.

Comparing the original wood grips to the larger rubber Hogue grips using only Federal AutoMatch at 21' for an apples-to-apples comparison:
    - 71% & 79% = 7.03.2023 with wood grips on 8 circles
    - 88% = 8.04..2023 with Hogue grips on 4 circles
It's fair to say the larger Hogue grips improved my accuracy.

Hogue grips with other ammo today:
    - 83% Remington Golden Bullets
    - 92% CCI Mini-Mags 40 grain SLN (best)
    - 75% Armscor 36 grain HP (worst)

6 rds each 1.75" circle w/4 brands ammo.

I keep improving my shooting with the SW 17-2 using DAO.
    3 ammo brands today:
    - CCI Mini-Mags
    - Federal AutoMatch
    - Armscor
    I was very pleased.

6 rounds on each 1.75" circle at 21'.
    100% x2 rows & 96% on x2 rows.

Nice DA shooting! DA revolver shooting for accuracy is a seldom practiced discipline these days. Admit myself to owning several DA revolvers but not shooting DA much. My 4" 617 is the one I have fired the most DA with.

I got to take one of Zackcz's latest acquisitions to the range today:
    - GSG 1911-22 .22LR picked up recently from a member who bought it from CM.

21' using 3 different ammo brands.
Forgot to label the top left (beside the head) two small red dots that were with Federal AutoMatch.

IMG_2716.jpegMost fun I’ve had at range in a while. Mainly because I was blown away by function and accuracy of the p07 kadet. The 75 kadet just did what it always does.

I’m thinking the kadet kit on p07 just made my no safety model tx22 expendable
