Thanks for the replies, I was leaning towards chips from what I had read
Wilson Combat, Chip McCormick, Tripp
I use Chip McCormick and Wilson exclusively, although I prefer Chip McCormick.
I bought some metalform mags after one of our esteemed counsellors recommended them. No issues with them so far, but have only used them a couple of times so far.Metalform mags also get mentioned quite a bit. I believe they produce a lot of OEM magazines.
In 45 cap I am a big fan of the Wilson Service Mag Plus for a flush fit 7 rounder and the Wilson ETM for an 8 rounder.
OK.. New to .45 just got my first. So all the mag's will my Smith and Wesson sw1911sc? I traded for it..could not buy one at this point. Thanks.
For that gun run the 7 round flush fit Wilson Service Mag+. Those scandium gun cycle pretty fast and you will need a magazine with plenty of spring in it to get the next round in place. Also the feed lip design can affect feeding depending on the ammo. With factory ball or hollowpoints the hybrid feed lip design helps control feed the round. Wilson ETM or 47d magazines release the cartridge too soon and can result in failure to feed. Good news is the Service Mags MSRP is only $19.95 so they are affordable. Plus the mags are flush fit which further reduces the profile of the roundbutted gun. Yeah you give up a round of capacity but the factory mags were good 7 rounders that just so happened to hold 8.
Trust me on this one. I chased the occasional hiccup until I figured all of this out for myself.
