There is only one 1911 configuration and that is a single stack, single action 1911 in 45 ACP. There are many other fine pistols, but only one 1911.

For your price range, I'd suggest you take a look at Buyer's guide for all you 1911 addicts......

If you really want a double stack, I prefer the FNP45 or the new FN tactical

I strayed away from the double stack idea. Im wanting to find one soon so I can get know my gun and shoot it and get constant tight groups. My carry permit wont be coming in the mail for probably another 4 months. So it gives me time to be confident in knowing my carry is dead on if I ever need to draw it.

    S&W 1911sc e series...sig 1911 or a SA commander. Wish I could find a dw.

I was looking at a Cz 75b two tone. Private seller locally has one for 500. I love the love and feel of the 1911 platform. But I would like something with a rail
    BOOM!! S&W1911!

I have decided to go the dan wesson guardian 9mm route. Caught my eye awhile ago and now that I have the funds, its still in my head. Im not a caliber snob, so practicing with any gun is deadly. Placement, placement and placement!
