10.5" 5.56 NATO Upper Question..........

I am just wondering if someone could tell me about these. Can you buy a 10.5" upper and put it on any lower or does it have to be a lower that is registered as a pistol? Can any lower become a pistol or SBR?

I know I am making this confusing but in a nutshell......I want to know what I can legally do with a 10.5" 5.56 upper?

the quick answer
no
if its a pistol lower yes
a regular rifle lower....you will need to do some homework and research in the class 3 section of the forum
p.s. i wouldnt even have it in the same house as a rifle lower until you get all the T's crossed and I's dotted

Thanks guys...I just seen them on PSA for a decent price and thought of getting one. Think I will now avoid though.
