My dad's 10/22 has the same scope that my Remington 582 has. Its a Weaver v22a. Its nothing fancy at all but you can pick them up for $15 used in pretty decent shape. Its a 3-6x. I got my 582 at an auction and will replace the scope in time but it is perfectly fine for plinking.

I've got a KonusPro 3x9x32 on my 10/22, and on Cathy's Model 60. We've been very pleased with them. They are very clear, reticles are lighted and engraved on the glass, hold zero well, have a very forgiving eye relief, just flat good scopes, especially for the $60 price tag.

We have a Simmons 22 Mag mounted on Sean's 795, and it's also proven to be a good deal. It's also clear, works well, and only runs in then neighborhood of $50, but that price includes rings.

I just picked up a .22 special by BSA from Bradis for $20. I put it on my sons plinkster 702. For $20 I couldn't be happier. We only shot it out to 25 yards though. This weekend I am going to monkey with it on the 50 yard range and see what I can get out of it. I have zero knowledge or experience with scopes though so I don't have the use of a "good" one to compare it to.

Well, we got to play with this today at 50 yards. It did really well as far as I could tell. I'm pretty confident that it is more accurate than I am.

Heres a three shot group from 50 yards.

Heres my best 3 shot group of the day. Never mind the flyer from an earlier group.

    Custom 10/22

I went through all 12 pages of advertisements for 10/22s and could not find his advertisement. That is how it usually works. I do remember that his basic custom gun was buy it now for $599.00 and options were additional. He also had his current offerings mounted on a shooting bench rifle rack with one of his calendars in the background that gave his company name. It was several months ago, but like I said he was putting Barskas on his custom guns and that is why I looked into them and put one on mine and it seems to work really good. However, you will and probably already have gotten recommendations for many other brands of scopes. Sorry that I could not be more helpful.

At the time.... 10 yrs ago... a $40 Simmons 3x9x40 8 point did the trick for me on a 10/22. My Ruger is gone, but the Simmons sets atop a Glenfield Mod. 25. I can John Wilkes Booth a penny at sub 75 yards.

I see BSA came up... I had one an a Savage 308 that shot the same hole every time at 100 yds. I still have a couple on a few 22's, they never disappoint.

I have a bushnell Banner 3-9x on my 10/22. I like it, but if I had to do it again I would probably spend the extra coin and get the Mueller APV 4.5-14×40.

    Mine wear Simmons

I use the Simmons 22 mag series scopes. They come 3x9 with AO in both silver or blue. They have Target turrets for easy adjustments. I order them from Natchez shooter supply for less than $50

This may fall into the "potential overkill" for a 10/22 scope category, but I have this one on my "Project 10/22 tack-driver" rifle.

Simmons Whitetail Classic Rifle Scope 6.5-20x 50mm Adjustable Objective Truplex Reticle Matte - MidwayUSA

My eyesight is pretty rotten (the gift from my parents that just keeps on giving :)). With this scope, even out past 100 yds, I can still see EXACTLY where the bullet is going to go.

You do have to use tall rings to make it fit but it is a great scope and once zeroed, it keeps it indefinitely.

My one warning: All 10/22's start as plinkers, then the need to make it just a little bit more accurate kicks in...and it's game on.

    Happy Shooting,

    Drew
