Medical bills are the number one cause of bankrupcy in this country, is it fair or right for a man to work his dick in the dirt for 50 years, come down with some medical issues and loose everything he has worked for, even with good insurance?

I just went thru this i have decent insurance but loss of work and medical bills still cost me a ton of money, so now i can see the writing on the wall, hopefully you will never have to go thru this. sure as **** thought i never would.

So your telling me you dont pay for yours?

Whats wrong with health care for all americans? sure will have to raise taxes to pay for it, but we have to pay for it anyway.

You know what? life sucks. It sucks bad. You know why it sucks? Because unlike every living being on the planet, humans comprehend just how bad it sucks.

You know what else? Life isn't fair. It's not fair that some people are smarter than others. It's not fair that some people work harder than others. It's not fair that after working hard for so long and putting everything into your success, some whiner comes along pissing, moaning and groaning because life's circumstances aren't fair.

I say this with all seriousness. I would be too embarrassed to ask someone to buy me something of pay for something for me in the name of fairness. I think I would rather walk off in the woods and die first. But that's just me.

The president would veto such a measure and they would be hard pressed to get the votes necessary to override the veto. Good luck getting Dems to vote for your new bill which will supposedly crucify the one they created.

True, the prez may veto it, but repealing Obamacare is one the the promises the Republicans made, so they better at least try. Let Obama veto it, make him veto it, make him veto it it twice, he'll just be digging the hole deeper for the remaining Demorats.

Sometimes I wonder if Obama isn't really, in secret, a Republican, because he sure sabotaged the Democratic party.

Besides waiting for proper care, lines in the emergency room, being turned away, and the steep decline in quality of care...what is right with it other than they don't have to pay for all of it?:dunno:

Also, most people fail to realize that approximately 25% of Americans that have no health insurance are actually eligible to receive health care insurance benefits but have yet to enroll.

So whats wrong with canadas health care system?

    Umm... It sucks?

Why do Canadiens come to the US for medical care? Because we actually provide some. If Canadiens rely on the Canadien lack of health care system they will die.

In Canada a bureaucrat decides they can afford 10 hip replace surguries, 20 cancer treatments, 15 hangnail removes, and an appendectomy. each year. If you need a hip and happen to be lucky enough to be married to a government minister or member of Parlament, you might just beat the queue this year. If not they give you pain meds and tell you to come back next year.

Is this what you're holding up as the model for the US? You seriously want to dick up my health care that I pay a ton of money OUT OF POCKET so that I can stand in queue because that's what's fair?

Fair is a four letter F word that ought to be banned on all Internet forums that aren't talking about pigs and hay rides.

Thats why their are so many hospitals going broke, they will all get paid with national healthcare. except for the illegals.
    Yep, they will get paid.

They'll get paid for the care that they give.

And since the .gov is the one paying the bill, they'll be able to tell the hospital how much care they are allowed to give, when they can give it, and what type of care to give.

In Canada's system that you asked about, hospitals/doctors are allowed only "so many" operations in a given time period. If you're in line for an operation and the hospital's quota has been filled, you wait until the following monetary period to have your operation.

Heck, even the British are parking ambulances in car parks for 4 hours or more because the A & E (ED Department) refuses to let the ambulances come in because they have hit their patient allotment.

When i was on my deathbed i was still glad to be alive, and just hoping i would live long enough to see my children graduate college.

Just saying health care should be fair for all americans, i work with a man who has the misfortune of have 2 very ill children he gets medical assistance (medicare i think) for them but is still so broke from paying medical bills he is next to homeless, we are all in this society together its not each man for himself in this country.

    Communist much?

I'm not miserable at all. I am happy being a producer. I am happy to be able to take care of myself and those around me. And while I don't like it I am even happy that I am among those that the Obamagonnaneedajob Gestapo calls unpatriotic and feels compelled to steal from in order to redistribute wealth thru payment of bribes and reparations to classes of people based upon some unknown and undefined sin committed and perpetrated against said classes that have somehow unfairly held them down and back while allowing me and people like me to rise above the canopy and florish. OK, breathe now.

I am glad for anyone that is alive. But you know what? Everyone dies. In their own way. At their appointed time. I would like to see my grandchildren grow up and continue their educations, hopefully graduating from college if they so desire. But given the choice to show them the difference between a liberty loving, rugged individual who lived live to the fullest never expecting a damn thing from others and a slug that slimes along life's road as a parasite incapable of living without sucking off others, I'll choose the former. And my grandchildren will understand that poppy taught them self-centeredness is a sin. That standing up and taking responsibility for themselves and their own actions is the only way they can help themselves and those around them. That taxation is not giving. And that charity comes from a good and righteous heart, not as the result of having a gun pointed at you. These life lessons are far more important that watching them get a piece of paper. Because that is my legacy, and they are the evidence of it.

The government already ensures thru draconian laws extending only to the medical system that you must receive free medical care even if you can't afford to pay for it. What other industry must provide their product or service for free at risk of prison term and license confiscation? None. Why not a free house? Free food? Free gas?

You may not have heard, but America soundly rejected the ideal that we "are all in this society together" and affirmed it is "every man for himself in thios country". Just last week as a matter of fact. Even if your Google-fu is weak, you should be able to find some information about it. Heck even the lame street media talked about it a little bit. You must have missed the bus ride and free cheeseburgers that day. But don't worry. It's coming back around.

    Ruger,

This country is not an uncaring country. This country is populated by the most generous people that have ever walked it's green fields and wooded hills. The problem comes in when a government mandates that people care for each other. Most people are more than willing to help those in need but the best way of doing that is not to require, by force of law, that everyone sends their dollars to Washington, allow the bureaucrats take their share and dribble the remaining monies out to those who they feel are deserving. One of the major factors that have to do with the cost of medical security and care is government interference. Do you think that putting the health care industry entirely into the government hands will bring costs down and quality up?

The medical industry is so burdened by the government that we are in the place we are. Have you ever wondered why so many hospitals are named St. Whoever or Holy Whatever? It is because for years, these hospitals ran under the generosity of the various churches they were affiliated with. Many, many people were treated for free through the giving of those who could afford to donate... then the government decided to get in the game. The donations dropped because the government decided they could better 'spread the wealth'. I know I can not freely donate to charitable causes like I would like to because of the tax burden the government puts upon me. I would like to once again, have the ability to donate my money to help people, like yourself, who have fallen on hard times due to health issues but instead, that money is now taken by the government and spent on propping up a bureaucracy and paying for things like Viagra for the poor and limp and sex changes for prisoners.

Government is not the solution, it is the problem. I feel confident to say that you would have well weathered your personal storm much better under the conditions our Founding Fathers envisioned than under the current mindset in Washington. Would your life be made whole again? Likely not but neither is it under the loving care of the government. I do feel for you for what you are going through and I have empathy for your plight but the solution is not to drag me down in your effort to raise yourself back up.

I wish you well but I think that when you say "we are all in this society together its not each man for himself in this country" you are taking a myopic view... we are all in this society together but having handed the reins to Washington, we have travelled the wrong path.

health care will be rationed as long as your one of those that is able to get the kind of healthcare that is aloted you will be ok. but if they have filled up there alotment you will be turned away. do you like waited in the er when you are sick as a dog? youll be doing alot more of that.

    Obamacare repealed?

I don't think it will be repealed but modified somewhat by the Republicans. I think as long as there is no personal accountability required, most Americans will never get off of the "entitlement" bandwagon. There is no something for nothing in this world we live in! Anything the governement gets their fingers in stinks of graft, corruption and inneficiency. Let's start by taking social security out of the general fund and isolate it. It would be nearly self funded at that point. Ah but wait, then the federal government couldn't manipulate the funds indisciminately.

They need support in the Senate to repeal health care. The Democrats still control the Senate. There might be a repeal of some of the most repugnant parts of the bill such as the requirement for businesses to file tax forms for anything/everything/everyone they spend more than 600 dollars with and maybe a few other things,. There will be no complete repeal for at least two more years and by then there will be other problems facing the nation and most voters will have forgotten about health care. The insurance companies are already lobbying the newly elected Republicans about the bill written by the insurance lobby for insurance companies. You the voter are so screwed.

    NOT. MY. PROBLEM.

As I said, life is hard. It's cruel, it's unfair. Don't ask me to pay for someone else's problems. I have enough troubles keeping up with my own.

Are you really trying to say that my not wanting to pay for someone else's medical care is the equivalent of force-marching them into a gas chamber? Really? Here's a clue for you. Telling someone they're on their own, and responsible for their own family, is NOT the same as putting a gun to their heads and pulling the trigger, or marching them at gunpoint into a gas chamber. If they can't take care of themselves and their families, that's too bad. But again, it's NOT MY PROBLEM.

What, if anything, did you do to help him in his time of need? Did you get together with his friends and family and neighbours and do anything? Or did you stand by and watch? There are always options that don't include using government force to extract money from some for the benefit of others.
