      1911 Recoil spring weight?

      Just picked up a Colt 1911 series 70 built in 80-83. I want to shoot 230 grain berrys plated round nose bullets. Any recommendation on a recoil spring weight? It has a Wilson Combat one piece rod. The spring feels way to heavy. Thanks

      You are gonna have a great time. Get your carpentry, electrical, plumbing and interior design skills honed. You're going to want to build a reloading room with proper lighting next to a bathroom that looks like it belongs in the Adirondacks. hehe. Welcome to the obsession.

      Thanks guys for the welcome. Looking forward to the events. Am glad to hear that nwi is an active group. I have two daughters 5 and 6. Looks like some youth activities/meets are thrown in the nwi schedule. Itll be nice to get them around some good folks with guns.
