Hello Joe,
Lt. Col. Phil Ohmit was a very good friend of mine, and it was Phil who coached me on the legal points as I was researching the topic during that Captive Cervid Council period a few years ago. Unfortunately we lost Phil last year, but I will get the code for you.
Thanks for the...
Fargo - it is already against the law, always has been. It is not something made up by a DNR Czar. When DNR tried to enforce the law the lawsuit was filed against DNR by this guy. The judge filed a temporary injunction, then ruled against DNR saying that they had no standing to stop him...
Folks I have been studying this issue for almost 10 years. Back in 2006 I was asked to be on a committee sponsored by the legislature and IDNR. As such I spent over a year on my own time and expense listening to experts on both sides of the debate. I started out thinking that it was a...
I also had a 75B that I let someone talk me out of - regretted it ever since. Now I have a Tactical and it is one of my favorite handguns. It will never leave.
If you put the bullet (or arrow) where it belongs it really doesn't take a large calibre to down the black bear. Hit him quarter away angle behind the front leg ( I use archery equipment) and aim for opposite front leg. I have taken 5 bear and they don't go far. But hit them wrong and they go...
I used to own a hunting / fishing store here in Columbus, and had this question many times from people new to shooting. My answer then and now, is a Ruger 10/22. Inexpensive, dependabe, and fun to shoot. One of the most accurate plinkers and very easy to shoot. Light, well balanced, points...
If I could only own one shotgun it would be a Remington 870 in 12 gauge. No doubt the most versatile and dependable shotgun I have ever dealt with. And you can add extra barrels as you determine need.
Second choice would be a Mossburg 500. Less money and not quite as nice looking but very...
My grandpa's 870. He kept it by his bedside for so long that the pattern from the chair it rested against is in the barrel. I have shot several deer with it and a few turkey. I still take it hunting so that he can hunt with me, even though he has been gone for 20 years.
I have shot Razorcaps frm NAP for several years, but now they have been discontinued apparently. Too bad, I loved this head. I see that NAP is making a similar head which screws into the tip rather than base, so I think I will try them.
I am new to shooting and owning Garands. I am getting mixed messages about how / should I reload for this gun. Has anyone out there any information to help me along?
Thanks in advance.
IMHO this is the best rim fire round to be found today. I have a Kimber which will absolutely shot same hole all day long. I love it, and would not hesitate to buy another.
Thanks all.
DNurk- I live in Columbus, where would you be located? I wouldn't mind buying you lunch or a cold drink in exchange for picking your brain...
I just bought a 1954 H&R, looks nice but I know nothing...
