Who carries without one in the chamber?

As a Marine I was issued a M-1911A1 and we carried without one in the pipe because they were prone to discharge (so we were told). When we went to the M-9 we always carried with one chambered.

Any other Military Surplus rifle collectors out here?

I have K-98ks, Springfield 1903 and 1903A3, Type-99s, and have in the past owned a trap-door Sprigfield (rifle not carbine), and an 1842 Springfield (still had a round rammed home I had to remove).

What is your Favorite ''Old" gun?

For me it would have to be my 1936 K-98k. It was made when they did a deep blue finish instead of the rougher black finish. Good natural point of aim when you put it into your shoulder, smooth bolt, tight rifleing. I ahve taken many deer of the years with it.

Gunsmithing: Would you clean this Old P 38 or leave it as it was

Leave it as is, some collectors perfer it that way. If the buyer wants it clean they can do and at the same time learn how to break it down.

      Howdy All

Just tried to contact a person about an item for sale and was informed that I have to post 50 time before I can talk to someone. Seems asinine but I don't make the rules. Would how many folks missed out on a sale because of this? Hello, I collect and shoot WWI and WWII long arms. Esp. Mauser...
