      35 Remington - 1.800"

Shot my first deer with the shortened 35. 200 gr Hornady FTX with 41 grains of LVR. He was strong quarter at me and I tested the bullet performance. 3 inches below the white throat patch. He reared up and rocked over backwards. Spine shot, expired in seconds. Not ideal shot but the round...

      35 Remington - 1.800"

Shorter than 16" barrel or 26" overall with a butt stock makes it a pistol in Indiana. I believe your referring to the federal law that prohibits less than 16" rifled barrels without a NFA stamp $200.00. I had almost forgotten about the feds. Broom_jm I'm glad you mentioned the 16 inch length...

      35 Remington - 1.800"

I also have a contender with a 14 inch barrel but on a pistol frame. Firearms season will bring about some tough decisions, Marlin 336 or TC Contender???

      35 Remington - 1.800"

not easy it doesn't center very well but it does settle in and cuts evenly if careful. I don't have an easy way of cutting down a 35 guide. It's going to be a challenge to get the collet cut down.

      35 Remington - 1.800"

first trimmed cases just trimmed my first 10 cases. chucked the case base in a drill and used a lee trimmer and a 223 trim guide. 223 cuts to 1.76 so, went slow and got 1.78-1.79. VERY HAPPY!

      35 Remington - 1.800"

DNR email :rockwoot:I emailed the Law Enforcement division of the DNR asking specifically about using a shortened case .35 remington for deer out of a rifle. The response was, " the case length must be between 1.16" and 1.8" and be at least .35" in diameter, if your ammunition match those...
