I'm thinking get ahead of the game and replace it. Contact a Ruger associate and see if they have it in stock/for sale. It should come with an OEM warranty at that point. Bradis Guns might also be able to help you.
My personal theory is pick a reliable caliber and stock it however you can (JHP/FMJ is irrelevant). Try to keep prepping weapons in that caliber. Collection guns are a totally different story. My personal preference is 38SPCL and 357MAG. Revolvers are reliable weapons and you can stockpile them...
I am looking to do some custom work on a family member's Mosin-Nagant. Some pictures from ya'll would be great for ideas. Some of the stuff you see on the grand ol' interwebs is a little excessive.
I have seen some with heftier price tags. I have a hard time justifying the price too; that's why I'm looking for some reasons. I hadn't thought of polishing the components though. I'll start there and see where this thread takes me.
I would say it depends on amount of use. Otherwise, if it's less than ten years old it shouldn't need it. When you start experiencing feeding issues that's when you start looking. I know Ruger is a reliable brand. My wife has a P94 that is about 12 years old and has never needed a new part. Take...
I'm looking to upgrade the trigger on my Glock 22 Gen3. Right now I'm at baseline with it and it can go anywhere (competition, bear country, you name it). What are some recommendations and reasons?
I agree with you there; but there is a reason 9MM became popular and is now part of the American psyche. I don't think 45ACP is going anywhere; but I see room being made for 10MM. Sooner or later something is going to phase out. The 9x18MM Makarov used to be extremely popular, now its an...
Hello,
I am one of the "new guys" here. I am a firearms enthusiast. I enjoy doing my own custom work. I am a former 19D Cavalry Scout and a Current 88A Transportation Officer. I'm here to broaden my knowledge from what appears to be a group of like-minded individuals.
I work as a range safety for the gun club public events in my area and I grade targets for them too. What I can tell you is I see new shooters picking up both and I see them doing better with the 10mm.
I recently purchased a S&W SD9VE. What is the average life expectancy of the weapon and what is the comfort of OWB carry for a larger person? It is a gift for my Father-In-Law and he is a big man in desperate need of an upgrade (He currently carries a Hi-Point that is about 10+ years old). So...
I am a fan of break-barrel style pellet rifles. I have used 10Pump but I find the pump and compression cylinder degrade at a faster rate than the break-barrel style.
I recently purchased a Browning 1911-380 and I am looking to do some custom work to it. The only custom part I have not been able to find is a threaded barrel. Is there anyone in the Brown County area that does custom barrels for a decent price?
