      Precision/Sniper Rifle Show and Tell

I've added/ replaced a few things on my Remington 700 SPS Tactical. I ordered a set of Seekins Precision 30mm scope rings and one of their 20 MOA Picatinny bases. I highly recommend the stuff Seekins makes, the base and rings are really well made. I also switched scopes. The gun looks pretty...

      .223 powder

Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate it. I know there are a lot of different loads, and I have a bunch to learn about them. I'm hoping I get some time to mess around more and figure out what my gun likes. Oh, my .223 is a Savage 11vt, which is a Dicks Sporting Goods special. 69 gr bullets...

The race to 50, who will it be today and what do they want

I like the one line wonders, they make me feel all happy inside. Honestly, I hate not being able to do everything in this forum like messaging people. I haven't been on this forum in a while, and I don't know much to contribute to this forum so that's why I was doing the one liners. Sorry for...

      .223 powder

I've heard that's one of the best for .223, I just can't find it local and I am not going to pay a hazmat fee to get it shipped to me.

      Reloading Room Pics

I need to get a bench to set up my stuff. I keep the supplies in a corner until I feel the need to reload a couple rounds.

      .223 powder

I'm slowly getting into reloading and the only powder I found local was varget and benchmark. Im curious if anybody has used them both and could tell me which one was more accurate. I know every gun is different, but I'm curious. I have a few rounds loaded with the different powder, I'm just...

      Another scope question

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. When the time comes I will definitely look at those scopes. Is that the aac-sd model? I really wanted one, but I couldn't find one so I bought the sps tactical. I am happy with it.

      Another scope question

Soon I will have an income and I am contemplating upgrading the scope on my Remington 700 SPS Tactical chambered in .308. Currently I have a Nikon Prostaff 4x12 mounted on it. The Nikon does the job just fine, it just kinda feels cheap. Ive mainly been looking at Vortex scopes because I have...

How well does steel-cased .308 run in bolt actions (Indian Enfield)?

I know my guns different, but my Savage model 11vt does not like the herters steel cased ammo. I had the same problems as Notalentbum, but every gun is different.

Muzzle brake and barrel thread questions

I'm going to be dropping both of my bolt action guns off at Tactical Component in Bremen to get the barrels threaded and I'm curious what kind of muzzle brakes for a .308 people recommend. I plan on getting this YHM Stainless 7.62mm Phantom M2 QD Silencer - For SaleSilencer Shop suppressor when...

      .308 Remington 700 vtr question

I don't know of many gun shops in Fort Wayne, I guess if I would have looked a little harder I might of found one. I'm happy with the one I bought though. I bought some 168gr federal premium gold medal ammo and I'm anxious to try that ammo out. I've only been shooting some cheap fmj ammo just to...

      .308 Remington 700 vtr question

No, the twist rate is 1:12. I was looking for the sps aac-sd model which has the 1:10 16.5 in threaded barrel, but I couldn't find one anywhere most likely because of the trigger recall. I bought the gun from Gander Mountain in Fort Wayne and I probably overpaid, but it was a little over $700...

Nice looking rifle you have there sgreen3. I almost bought a Savage 10, I can't remember the model tho, but I chose that Remington SPS Tactical.

      Precision/Sniper Rifle Show and Tell

I recently got this rifle, and when I have steady income I plan on getting a better scope for it and a nice bipod. So far I like the stock, so I have no plans on changing it. Its a Remington 700 SPS Tactical chambered in .308. The scope is a Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40mm. This is my first Remington...

      .308 Remington 700 vtr question

Thanks for all the responses, but I passed on the gun. Instead I bought a remington 700 sps tactical chambered in .308. Im hoping tomorrow I'll be able to see how well it shoots.

      .308 Remington 700 vtr question

I have a question about the price on these guns. There is a guy local that is selling one with a Hawke 4-16x50ir for $750. Is that a good price? I haven't seen the gun in person, but it looks good in pictures. Thanks

      Savage 11-VT Rifle

I have this in .223 and I am really happy with it. The scope kinda sucks, but the stock doesn't bother me. I was looking at stocks, and like the other people said, there are stocks that fit but they just need a little sanding around the trigger area.

Hmm thanks, Bremen isn't that far away from my parents place. Do you possibly know how expensive he is?
